Sonny's Real-Pit Bar-B-Que on Amelia Island 25th Anniversary

Congratulations Sonny's Bar-B-Que 25th Anniversary
Not many businesses can claim longevity and success such as Mickey and Gail Ulmer, owners of Sonny's on Amelia Island. The Ulmer's are well known in Nassau County for their tireless volunteer hours, participation in events and overall community involvement. Their location has been opened for 25 years in Fernandina Beach and they celebrated, along with Sonny himself!
Sonny Tillman opened his first restaurant in Gainesville, Florida in 1968. There are now 138 restaurants in 9 Southern states. If you're ever traveling I-95 in Northeast, Florida, we would recommend taking the short 10 mile trip to Amelia Island and stop in to meet Mickey and Gail and have some of the best Bar-B-Que around! The Palace Saloon

Between 1880-1910 Fernandina's docks were among the busiest in the south. Basking in her heyday, she welcomed ships from the far corners of the globe. Of the many saloons that lined the lively streets of the harbour district - and there were over 20 at the time - only one bore the distinction of being the "Ship Captains Bar." And that was the Palace.
